Firefox 3: The Holy Grail?

You may have noticed my incessant whining about how awful IE7, Firefox 2, and Opera all are. Well, apparently for the past year or so it has been possible to download pre-release versions of Firefox 3. And I hate you all for failing to mention this fact despite my incessant whining.

Prelim tests are looking good so far. I am running Meebo, Gmail and Google Docs, a combination which would have ground Firefox 2 and my whole system to a halt, with super speed; it looks like Mozilla has finally cleaned up that memory leak issue. And while Alpha 1 crashed on me, Gran Paradiso Alpha 2 is looking pretty stable so far (that’s right IE, only pre-release versions are allowed to crash!) The Alphas don’t yet support my favorite plugins (Firebug, Web Dev plugin and Del.icio.us) but I can live without, as long as I can finally SURF THE WEB. Paradiso indeed.

Jesus, how come it took this long to answer that simple prayer?

Download Gran Paradiso here.

Update: Gran Paradiso has crashed a couple times on me. However, I will let that slide seeing as it is an alpha release and allows you to restore sessions. Why doesn’t IE7 restore sessions? Microsoft continues to think it’s perfectly acceptable to release sloppy-ass software that is worse than a Mozilla alpha release.
